Monroe First Responders Receive REACH-A-Child REACH BAGs!
On Monday, July 17th, Executive Director, Curtis J Fuszard, delivered 235 children’s books to the leaders of the Monroe Police Department, Monroe Fire Department and Green County EMS. This delivery included 20 “REACH BAGS” – durable backpacks to be maintained in the First Responder vehicles. Each REACH BAG contains children’s books and drawstring backpacks, to be provided to children the First Responders encounter in crisis situations.
An additional supply of 65 books was provided to allow the First Responders to proactively engage young boys and girls they encounter in non-crisis situations.
This was all made possible thanks to a very generous donation by John Baumann, President & CEO of Colony Brands, Inc., and his wonderful company.
Accepting the books and backpacks (pictured from left) were EMS Chief Dan Nufer, Police Chief Fred Kelley and Fire Chief Dan Smits.
Thanks to Colony Brands, Inc., these Monroe area First Responders will be able to comfort and distract 170 children-in-crisis with an age appropriate children’s book.
